Clarence Bistro Bar Hotel is a premium hospitality destination in the heart of Tauranga, known for its boutique charm and high-end guest experience. Safe n Sound was engaged to deliver a full-scale AV and IT solution, supporting both the front-of-house ambience and behind-the-scenes infrastructure with professional-grade technology.

Project Goals

The client required:

  • A conference-ready AV setup with seamless wireless presentation capability
  • Wall-mounted Sony 4K TVs for the bar, restaurant, and guest rooms
  • Apple TV installation in select rooms for premium in-room entertainment
  • Background music coverage across public areas, including bar, restaurant, kitchen, and toilets
  • Centralised audio control, ideally from the restaurant till area
  • Scalable, high-performance Wi-Fi throughout the venue for both staff and guests

Audio Visual & Entertainment Systems

Conference Room:

  • 70″ Sony 4K Smart LED TV
  • Wall-mounted using Sanus VisionMount brackets
  • QSC surface-mount speakers (x4)
  • Barco ClickShare wireless presentation system
  • Audio connectivity and input flexibility
  • HDMI and Cat6 patch leads for streamlined cabling

Main Bar, Restaurant & Public Areas:

  • Multiple Sony 4K Smart TVs (55″ and 49″) across bar and guest areas
  • QSC multi-zone speaker systems, amplifiers, and subwoofers
  • Background music coverage extended to:
    • Main bar (Zones 1 & 2)
    • Restaurant
    • Nook, Street 1 & 2, Kitchen
    • Toilets and Lobby
  • Wall plates and mic/line input panels for events and flexible source input
  • Intuitive Q-Sys touchscreen control panel for simplified zone management

Guest Rooms (1–10):

  • 49″ Sony 4K TVs with full-motion mounting
  • Apple TVs with internet access for each room
  • Hook-and-loop cable management for a clean install

IT, Wi-Fi & Control Infrastructure

Centralised Control System:

  • Q-Sys Core 110 with digital processor and UCI touchscreen interface
  • All systems neatly housed in an 18RU server cabinet

Venue-Wide Wi-Fi:

  • Ubiquiti UniFi system with:
    • 5x UniFi AP AC Pro access points
    • 8-Port PoE switch
    • UniFi Cloud Key controller for remote management
